MRIO Comparison | Confidence
The figures on this page provide a snapshot comparison between four global MRIO models: Eora, WIOD, EXIOPOL, and GTAP. A graph is plotted for each individual country
covered by at least two of the models. WIOD and Eora are available as timeseries (1995-2010, and 1990-2010, respectively) while EXIOPOL
is available for year 2000 and GTAP for both 2004 and and 2007.
Five top-level results for each country are compared:
- GDP
- Imports ($US)
- Exports ($US)
- CO2prod - territorial emissions
- CO2cons - consumption-based inventory
Reported territorial emissions - which should be objectively measured and reported by the IPCC - vary between the models, by ≅ ±10%. This variation means that each country's consumption-based inventory will also disagree.
Given the importance of these macro-economic totals and the fact that in most models these data are actually used as constraints we hope to see strong agreement between the models on these values.
